The Robotics Living Lab participates in a range of events designed to foster dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge exchange across disciplines. From workshops and public demonstrations to academic symposia and industry briefings, these events create opportunities to engage with emerging research, technologies, and practices in advanced manufacturing.

For the 3rd time in a row, RoLL is attending the Future Fabrics Expo,
24-25 June at Magazine in London.

RoLL will be presenting the findings of a new report with CFIN and the MTC ‘Advancing Automation and Robotics for Sustainable Manufacturing‘ at the MTC Robotics and Automation Event 2025, alongside exhibiting in the event’s university showcase.

RoLL had the pleasure of hosting a meeting of the European Textiles Network – Sector Group NW region.

The Work in Progress Pavilion, designed by Bennetts Associates and home to many of RoLL’s public events, has been featured in Architecture Today for its innovative, low-carbon design.

RoLL featured in Vogue Business ‘Can British fashion coax Gen Z onto the factory floor?’

Researching better futures for fashion
September 2024 – August 2025
the Design Museum
The display showcases the urgent research and innovation work taking
place across the UK to rethink the world of fashion. Moving from fabric
landscapes to design studios to individual garments, the display presents
a future built from both high-tech and low-tech tools: sewing machines,
robotic arms, artificial intelligence, digital IDs, upcycling, recycling and more.
The Robotics Living Lab, based at Manchester Fashion Institute, revolutionises
fashion design and production in the UK with a suite of robotic tools that can
be used to create high value garments in low volumes.

Exploring automation and robotics for UK fashion and textile manufacturing
Organised by RoLL, CFIN and the MTC, this event brought UK retailers, brands and manufacturers together to explore how automation and robotics could enhance existing UK manufacturing capacity, as part of an initiative through the sustainable manufacturing focus of the Circular Fashion Innovation Network (CFIN).

RoLL was delighted to participate as an exhibitor at Texprocess 2024, showcasing our research on collaborative robotics and sustainable fashion production to an international audience.
